Terms
Last updated: 2026-06-15
These are the simple terms for using Iris. We've kept them short and plain. By calling Iris and talking with her, you agree to these terms. If you have any questions, please write to Richie at richie@iris.church.
Your first 60 minutes are free while we're in beta
Right now, while we're in beta, your first 60 minutes with Iris are free — on us, a one-time welcome, with no card needed to start. If you'd like more time together, you can choose the Companion plan inside our app ($14.99 a month for 150 minutes), and add one-time top-up minutes anytime you'd like more. A plan renews each month until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime — just write to Richie at richie@iris.church and we'll take care of it the same day, no questions asked. You'll never be charged by surprise, and Iris will never ask for your card on a phone call.
Iris is company, not emergency or medical care
Iris is here to keep you company and have a friendly talk. She is not a doctor, a nurse, or an emergency service, and she cannot send help. If someone is hurt or in danger, hang up and dial 911. If you are in crisis or thinking of harming yourself, call or text 988 any time to reach a caring person. Please don't rely on Iris in an emergency.
No medical, legal, or money advice
Iris won't give you medical, legal, or financial advice, and you shouldn't treat anything she says as that kind of advice. For those things, please talk with a doctor, a lawyer, or someone in your family you trust.
Using Iris kindly
Please use Iris for what she's meant for: a friendly conversation. Don't use her to harm or harass anyone, and please don't try to break or misuse the service. Iris will never ask you for money, card or bank numbers, your Social Security number, or any password or code on a call. The only place you can ever pay for more time is the plans screen inside our app — never over the phone. So please never give those out on a call, even if someone else asks you to.
A friendly note about how she works
Iris is a computer voice, and like any computer she can sometimes get something wrong or be unavailable for a little while. We do our best to keep her warm, accurate, and ready whenever you call, but we can't promise she'll be perfect every time. While we're in beta, Iris is provided as-is as we keep making her better.
Your privacy
The same promises on our Privacy page apply when you use Iris: your data is your property, you can ask her to forget anything anytime, and we never sell your conversations.
Changes to these terms
Because Iris is new and growing, we may update these terms now and then. If we make an important change, we'll do our best to let you know in plain words. Using Iris after a change means you're okay with the updated terms.
How to reach us
We'd love to hear from you, whether it's a question, a worry, or just a kind word. Write to Richie at richie@iris.church, and a real person will get back to you.
